Jose Mourinho guided Chelsea to what was a very convincing Premier League campaign where his team only lost 3 matches in the entire season. From the very start of the previous season, until the end it’s hard to deny the fact that Chelsea were the favorites of winning the league title and indeed that’s what happened.
Even though Chelsea ran through their opposition in the latest Premier League season, this will not stop Jose Mourinho in upgrading his squad even further during the summer transfer window. The Portuguese manager has already stated his desire of winning more major pieces of silverware in the next season but this is easier said than done as other clubs are also in the process of signing players and improving their respective squads.
Premier League betting
Punters are always on the lookout for ways to make more money and the Asian Handicap option has soared in popularity as a result. Premier League betting is all about getting in more efficiency with each bet, while increasing the challenge. Many punters select the Premier league lineup as their target for this reason: the overall quality of the teams involved, as well as the increased challenge. But why the Asian Handicap style?
As explained in this betting guide, the Asian Handicap eliminates the “draw” outcome completely. The strongest teams have to win by more goals than normal. So this perks up the match tremendously: if you know a stronger team is going to mop the floor with another team, you might as well add a few goals to keep things interesting? With “challenge” comes the opportunity to make more money with each bet, cementing the Asian Handicap as the bet to place for real betting aficionados.
Clubs that have a genuine chance of winning the league
Chelsea
It’s not an easy task trying to defend the league title but Chelsea has everything they need in order to succeed do it. From the managerial position of the Premier League club to almost every single spot of the squad, Chelsea has everything covered.
Branislav Ivanovic along with John Terry were 2 of the best defenders of the Premier League of the past season and they will continue performing for Chelsea at least for another year. The midfield department is running smooth with Fabregas, Eden Hazard and Nemanja Matic meanwhile on the offensive section, Diego Costa was unstoppable as he scored 20 league goals and finished the campaign as one of the top goal scorers.
Jose Mourinho has a star studded team and even though he is looking around the transfer market for possible signings, the Portuguese manager already has everything he needs to not only defend their Premier League title but also compete against Europe’s elite and battle for the Champions League as well.
Manchester United
Manchester United finished the past season on the 4th spot and even though they were 17 points behind Chelsea, what Louis van Gaal managed to accomplish is something that cannot be seen in the standings.
The Dutch manager of Manchester United was appointed as the coach of the club at Old Trafford on May of 2014 as he replaced David Moyes.
At the time when Moyes was sacked, United was in the 7th position of the league and had no chance of securing a Champions League spot which was the first time that the club had not been able to do that since 1995.
Louis van Gaal arrived and completely changed a team that was broken down. Manchester United was constantly being critiqued for their playing style as they played a very slow paced and long ball system but the team still managed to come out on top with the triumphs for the majority of their games and this defensive system will not be utilized in the next season, it was only used because Louis van Gaal had no other option at his disposal as his team struggled in every aspect. From scoring goals to defending appropriately, almost every single player of Manchester United seemed to be out of shape but despite this Louis van Gaal somehow pushed the team to the 4th spot which is an outstanding accomplishment.
Securing the 4th position is even more impressive taking into consideration that it was the first season of Louis van Gaal in charge of the team, just imagine what he can do in the next few years. It has already been confirmed that the Dutch manager will be given a huge transfer budget of around €170 million so he can sign whatever player he wants and major signings are expected to be made within the next few weeks.
Manchester United is a genuine candidate for the 2015-16 Premier League season.
Manchester City
One of the main reasons of why I am putting Manchester City in this list of clubs that have a chance of winning the Premier League in the next season is because of: Desperation.
Manuel Pellegrini is under hot water with the head chiefs of Manchester City as the Chilean manager was not able to win any single trophy of the past season and he was rumored of being replaced after having gone through such a disappointing campaign. If Pellegrini is not able to spark his team back into life, he will be sacked without hesitation.
Clubs that spend a huge amount of cash in their respective squads have a tendency of sacking managers at a very fast pace and Manuel Pellegrini is lucky to not have been removed from his managerial position after such an underwhelming season. Pellegrini has a contract with Manchester City which extends until 2016 but the English club will probably extend that contract if he is able to get Manchester City a Premier League or a Champions League title.
Pellegrini and Manchester City are desperate for titles and they might reach it in the next season.
Liverpool has been struggling so much in recent times and it’s extremely unlikely that they will be able to win the Premier League title anytime soon. Arsenal on the other hand have a bigger shot of becoming champions of England but Arsene Wenger and his squad still aren’t at the same level as the other clubs.
